Once peter realizes that he is doing everything wrong he decides only one way you can make it right by getting rid of the alien symbiote suit by riping it off which eventually leads to the birth of venom. peter now faces all the darkest demons as he also tries to win back Mary Jane Watson.
Peter Parker is finally happy: he is doing well at the school, his girlfriend MJ Watson loves him and the whole city loves his crime-fighting alter-ego Spider-Man, finally bestowing upon him the praise he so rightly deserves. Apart from this, he has made some new foes and rivals . His former friend-turned-foe Harry Osborn has become the New Goblin and wants to avenge his father by killing Spider-Man. On one night, an alien symbiote from outer space crash lands in Peter's vicinity and attaches itself to his Spider suit, turning it black in colour and enhancing its powers. Flint Marko, a fugitive, is turned into The Sandman when he gets subjected to a molecular lab experiment. Incidentally, Marko is the person who is revealed to have killed Peter's uncle Ben and now Peter wants revenge. Peter's job as a freelance photographer with The Daily Bugle is taken by Eddie Brock. Peter also learns that apart from enhancing his powers the black symbiote has also brought out the dark side within him which causes him to ruthlessly manages to throw Eddie out of his job. When MJ breaks up with him, he starts dating his fellow student Gwen Stacy who was Edie's ex, to make them both jealous. Soon Peter must decide whether he should let his dark side to dominate his personality or not.
Spider-Man gets all emo and bad ass at the same time with the introduction of "evil black space goo". This time, he must duel with the Sandman, Green Goblin and Venom, as the movie, literally, loses the plot. I could try and explain it to you, but it would make The Big Sleep sound like Snakes On A Plane. The basic thread is Spider-Man discovers his dark side, after being infected with a black substance from outer-space. It causes him to stop combing his hair, do a ridiculous "impression" of John Travolta from Saturday Night Fever and generally act like a horny sixth-former. It also greatly increases his violent tendencies, as he shows no remorse pummelling some of his enemies to their apparent deaths. In the mean time, Mary Jane is failing as an actress, and getting kidnapped every now and again. Her relationship with Peter is once again strained, which has a lot to do with the introduction of Gwen Stacey, another potential love foil.

The first two Spider-Man movies were underwhelming, in terms of spectacle (Spider-Man 2 less so). The CGI had always been ropey, the dialogue reeked of cheese, and much of the action was disappointingly pedestrian. What the series had going for it was its heart and faith in the characters. It was never really about Spider-Man but Peter Parker, who struggled with his identity in the last film, only to come clean to Mary Jane at the end. Spider-Man 3 aspires to the same level of drama, with none of the reward. The plot is completely incomprehensible and having three bad guys wander in and out of the film's narrative only serves to make matters more confusing. Firstly, why do we need the sandman? There is nothing scary about a man who can turn into a beach, whether he is played by Thomas Haden Church or not. Secondly, whenever a character suffers from Amnesia, it is usually a film-making short cut so we can go over ground already trampled upon in the past. And that is exactly what happens here. Thirdly – Venom is played by Topher Grace, the single most annoying actor in the world. If you had ever read the comics or even seen the animated series of Spider-Man, you would know that Venom is meant to be scary as hell. Yet listening to him talk like a racquetball-playing yuppy, albeit occasionally screeching, just made me think what he really needs is a nice cappuccino and a Apple laptop to put his photos on.

The film's saving graces are all down to director Sam Raimi and leading player Tobey Maguire. Raimi has always been good at placing comedy in his films, and there are a couple of really funny moments, involving Bruce Campbell in a hilarious cameo, and JK Simmons doing JJ Jameson, the newspaper editor from hell shtick, he does so well. Also, the action isn't half bad either. There is an absolutely spectacular sequence involving a humongous crane pillaging through the side of a skyscraper, only for Spider to come to the rescue. But at a reported $258 million (that's fifty million than Titanic) it does not justify its price or hype. There are only so many times we can witness Mary Jane get kidnapped before it becomes numbing. Tobey Maguire does his best, as always. And does nothing to disserve the drama of the piece. But considering just how good this could have been, it really wasn't worth the hype.
Why is this a chick flick? I'm quite positive most people go to a Spiderman movie to see cool action and awesome special effects. Not that a decent amount of emotion could not usefully support character development and give the movie depth… and stuff… but getting constantly bombarded with personal problems of the supporting cast and totally unnecessarily conflicts, with a sad score blaring frequently, what's the point in that? I want spider sense tingling and uppercuts and flying martial arts web action. Does anyone seriously expect me to cry on a Spiderman movie? Hours go by without any kind of action, instead you have to suffer trough this: "Peter, why do you want to push me away from you?". I will not even go into the infamous emo-Peter-fever-dance- sequence, to leave room for the part when Eddie Brock kneels down in a church and asks Jesus (I repeat, that's Jesus Christ) to "KILL PETER PARKER". At that point I wouldn't have been surprised about Jesus descending from the cross to actuall battle Spiderman. Around the end, we also get a shot of Spiderman posing in front of a giant, waving American flag, that kind of did it for me and several other people in the cinema and it was all laughter from then on, the best part of the whole flick.

I was promised a darker and deeper Spiderman and what I got was a "f*ck- you" and a kick in the nuts. Well f*ck you too Mr. Raimi.

2/10
The movie isn't a dud: It has exuberant bits and breathtaking (money money money) effects. But it's supposed to be fun and inspirational, and it's too leaden for liftoff.
Another answer can be like a reference to the 1994's Spiderman: The Animated Series, when he accidentally found the weak of the Symbiote in a fight with Shocker in the "The Alien Costume" saga. The answer is twofold; Eddie worked for the daily bugle and thus likely found out about Marko's escape and motives as the bugle was covering it. He then bonds with the Symbiote which retains its memories of its time bonded with Peter including the fight in the subway. Eddie Brock Jr. could have been brought back for a sequel or spinoff (but hasn't and won't). Additionally, the Symbiote is still alive in a couple places—remember that Dr. Connors still has a piece of the Symbiote. It is widely believed that the Symbiote that Connors has will eventually bond with the yet-to-be-introduced character of Cletus Kasady to form Carnage, as was the case in the comics that Carnage was created in Venom's wake. It was announced in July 2008 that there was Venom spinoff in early pre-production that would follow Spider-Man 3 (but seemingly it was cancelled with the discontinuation of the main movie series). Topher Grace possibly would not have returned for the role, as there had been several other hosts to the Venom Symbiote in the comics that could be used in a solo film, including the short lived Angelo Fortunato, and the Scorpion aka "Mac" Gargan. Eddie Brock, meanwhile, had the bits of Symbiote left over in his blood bond to his white blood cells, giving him a new white Venom-like suit. Along with a more altruistic attitude, Brock calls himself Anti-Venom. A potential spinoff could have followed either of these plots. (Source: here.) Ultimately the fates of the characters in the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man continuity is unknown, and similar is the case with the later Andrew Garfield Spider-Man reboot continuity, since the movie franchise was rebooted one more time shortly thereafter. The song playing during Peter's street-dancing scene was "People, Get up, and Drive Your Funky Soul" by James Brown. It is an edited version, though, since the original was nine minutes long and was featured on James Brown's 1988 album Motherlode. This version is two minutes and 24 seconds. Possibly never. It is still unknown at this time when or if it will be released. It is also unknown what the running time would be. Sam Raimi has not made any statements about a Director's Cut, although Columbia has been known to release extended director's cuts on DVD for other titles in the past, including Spider-Man 2.1. However, note that Columbia may no longer have the relevant rights (such as post-production in addition to distribution) to the Spider-Man cinema franchise, as the underlying copyright (or license) has gone from Columbia's control to Sony's and then to Marvel Studios'. The movie studios are unlikely to work out a deal, especially if it wouldn't be mutually profitable. If a Director's Cut home video release is ever made of this movie, it is likely to be called Spider-Man 3.1. Had a "3.1" DVD been made then it would have likely to been released to coincide with the theatrical release of the reboot movie The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) just like when the "2.1" DVD came out to coincide with the theatrical release of Spider-Man 3. But the odds of this had always been slim, given that The Amazing Spider-Man was the start of a new series. Had Spider-Man 4 been released in 2011, the studio probably would have released it as a Spider-Man 3.1 then. When the film was completed, the running time was set at 156 minutes on the IMDb page, then later reduced to 139 minutes. Therefore, about 17 minutes was cut from the final film. Note: Richard Roeper & Christy Lemire's review of the film presented the 156-minute running time on screen, but it is no longer available online. On a Sony Pictures discussion board thread archived here There was going to be a fourth movie but the studio eventually scrapped it in favor of a reboot. It was ultimately cancelled coming down to a combination of Sam Raimi and Sony Pictures not agreeing on an antagonist or villain for the film and Raimi hating the concocted storyline for the fourth film. Perhaps there was a way to save "Spider-Man 4"; but just as likely the studio folks tried all they could but to no avail, and it would've cost too much money had they kept on trying to agree on a villain or got more writers to draft the story.
